I needed to pair a nice Cabernet with this beautiful sunset to end the first work week of 2019. I pulled out this beautiful Stags Leap Wine Cellars Artemis Cabernet. Their wine making style has been described as an “iron fist in a velvet glove”. Marcus Notaro was named winemaker for Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars in May, 2013, bringing with him close to two decades of expertise and passion for producing world-class Cabernet Sauvignon-based wines. You will find black cherries and plum with a very strong presence of vanilla in this cabernet. This has a medium to bold body that rolls across the tongue with balanced tannins, low acidity forming a very long finish. Just delicious! As always, the Stags Leap Wine Cellars Artemis delivers quality! Giving this wonderful cab 4 out of 5 glasses.
