2014 Dry Creek Cab from Sonoma County, blend: 82% Cab, 8% Petit Verdot, 4% Cabernet Franc, 4% Malbec and 2% Merlot. There is dry fruit (strawberries and blueberries) on the front, just a little to dry for me. Maybe with some cellar time the dryness will evaporate and become smoother. I believe if it had more Merlot and less Petit Verdot, then this would be a great blend. Petit Verdot is a variety of red wine grape, principally used in classic Bordeaux blends. Runs about $19 at Vons.
