December for my family is filled with special occasions; birthdays, anniversaries, concerts and holiday gatherings with friends and family. All these celebrations call for special wines and this wine is definitely a special wine. As stated from the label this wine comes from the famous Stags Leap District in Napa. Famous for some of the best Cabernets in the world. Strawberry jam with notes of vanilla greet you upon initial smell and taste. The traditional Cabernet oak overtones are very subtle with this selection. There are notes of Licorice as well. This wine has good balance from beginning to end, making it perfect for just drinking and enjoying or paired with food. We enjoyed this bottle with prime rib and Yorkshire pudding. For optimum enjoyment, allow to breath at least an hour or two. We used our Aervana electric wine aerator and it was ready to drink in about ½ hour. I give this wine 5 glasses. Another spectacular wine for special occasions.
