Vanilla and spice overtones with a hint of toasty oak presence greet you upon first aroma. Very nice cherry notes with some berry accents upon first sip. I first paired this wine with a sharp cheddar cheese which really brought out the tart cherry character. I then paired it with some goat cheese and wow, what a difference. The goat cheese softened the tart cherry and brought out a smoother vanilla quality. This wine has very mild tannins and really pairs well with cheeses. It will work well with grilled meats as I paired it with a grilled pork loin. Very nice. Although I had the 2010 the 2012 and 14 are just as nice. I give this wine 3 ½ glasses for overall taste and value ($10.99).
