We always like to bring out the big, bold Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon to get the weekend started. We selected one of our favorite vineyards, Silverado, to enjoy winemaker Jon Emmerich’s best Cabernet, “Solo”. This is our wives favorite too! This 2012 Stags Leaps District Cabernet has dark ruby color with strong aromas of plums, cherries and hints of vanilla, tobacco and leather. This wine is well balanced with medium tannins and soft acidity that transform into a velvety elegant finish. There was a nice vanilla taste at the end which really made this wine very enjoyable. This is a wine that could be drank alone or with hearty meats and cheeses. We also enjoyed this with fish. I would give this wine somewhere between 4 to 5 glasses!
