A fantastic wine from one of my favorite NAPA wineries, St. Supéry. If you have been reading our blogs, then you may remember on one of our field trips to NAPA we talked about St. Supéry. As a member of their wine club, I was given an option of various wines to order for my bi-monthly shipment. When I saw the Elu I decided to order 2 Elu’s instead of the Cabernet Franc that they were going to send. And boy am I glad I did. Not to say the Cabernet Franc isn’t good, it is very good, I was just looking for a more jammy dark berry rich wine for my wife. This wine is good on it’s own as well as paired with almost any type of food. We enjoyed this wine at one of our favorite Italian restaurants with our wives. In fact Jim and I didn’t really get much as the wives commandeered the bottle. It’s rich plum and berry notes along with its long finish make for the perfect sipping experience. I give this wine 5 glasses.
