Vintage Wines – Wine Store and Wine Tastings
We had to cancel our trip to LA and decided to stay local. My wife mentioned that Vintage Wines (in San Diego) were offering a Spanish wine tasting (we love Spanish red wines!) We were setup with 6 offerings from Spain – all red (YES): 2009 La Rioja Alta Vina Ardanza Reserva, 2010 Bodegas Lan Rioja Gran Reserva, 2011 La Rioja Alta Vina Arana Rioja Reserva, 2014 Marques de Murrieta Rioja Reserva, 2016 Bodegas El Nido Clio Jumilla and 2016 Alto Moncayo Veraton Garnacha Campo de Borja. All wines were nice, but our favorite was 2016 Bodegas El Nido Clio Jumilla (of course it’s 30% Cab!)
After the tasting, we walked around the store to check-out the great selection of wines. Their prices will compete against any wine shop in town, even Costco! Of course, we walked out with a few bottles of awesome red wines!!
Vintage Wines is open 7 days a week. They offer a wine tasting for $10-$20 a person featuring a different variety every Saturday from 11-3:30. We will be back this Saturday, Feb. 23, for the Cabernet & Blends wine tasting! Be sure to bring your own snack pairings. You can check them out at www.vintagewinessd.com and tell them, My Red Wine Guys sent you!
